Appendix B: Key Insights in the Metaphysikos To Thaumatos

Reality is, by nature, built on principles that are incongruous, erroneous to human perception and logic – real principles of absurdity.

Quantum physics delivers an ontology of real things that are only probably real, realism built from irrealism, the actual from the probable.

Things never become existing entities, never achieve being, but exist in a state of probability prior to and past an impossible individuation of time we call the present moment.

Only subjects identify individual quantities. With no subject present to call something a thing, quantities and individual things exist as themselves only in relation to other things.

We should fret the contradiction that we cannot calculate pi, but that every step of this sisyphean logical exercise is stable, and every calculated digit is correct.

We can only approximate to the comfort of adequate knowledge.

We began historically at a place prior to systems of quantifaction, invented systems of mathematics and logic to enhance our precision of measuring and understanding things around us, became uncertain of how to reason the many contradictions, paradoxes, complicated limitations, and side-effects of the paradigm of quantifaction, and continued forward from that point in assuming that things in their natural state are, in fact, quantities: we invented things and logic, pretend that we did not invent things and logic, then marvel that things behave illogically, irrationally, fantastically, as though things and logic were simply made up.

Just as the continuum of value cannot be individuated, neither can we individuate the continuum of understanding with words.

We cannot transcend the tautological vertigo of individuated meaning.

It is only the belief in the possibility or impossibility of moral truth that qualifies as a distinct metaethical trait of homo sapiens.

Belief is the caulking that fills and smooths the sharp gaps in the tiled surface of adequacy.

It is the degree of a trait that distinguishes humans from non-humans, not the trait.

The entitating Self is the estuary into which flow the rivers of ossified identity, protean psychology, reflexive physiology, and transactioned experiences, all of which synthesize within us in a swirling flood of those factors, funneling into the tireless mechanism of belief which solidifies and codifies the faculty of understanding.

Lack of metaethical knowledge is unique to homo sapiens. This fact is accompanied by a yawning gape of questions about the nature of knowledge, and the distinction of truth and the real.

Lawfulness is the existential mode of belief in individuation, and is the default perspective of four-dimensional perception.

While nothing is true, moral relativity permits good, evil, and neutral as real things in the un-real, relative cosmos.
